Is your child struggling at school or at home?

Does your child sometimes seem sad, lonely, or anxious?

Would you like to nurture your child's sense of wonder?

I welcome and work with a wide range of emotional, behavioural and developmental issues and situations affecting children.

Why Play Therapy?

In play therapy, children bring their wishes, fears, feelings, and
sub-conscious thoughts to the room and explore them through play.

Play is a wonderful, liberating form of self-expression, one of the first ways a child communicates, without the need for words. It is one of the most effective ways to reach and work with a child.

It supports children with emotional and behavioural difficulties, including, among many others: anxiety, fear, withdrawal, hyperactivity, feelings around loss and separation, issues at home and school, fluctuating moods, problems in relationships, trauma, and major life events.

How does it work?

Play therapy offers a child-centered approach - we work at the child’s pace, and the child takes the lead. It is hoped that a trusting relationship develops, and the child feels comfortable expressing themselves freely and fearlessly.
The goal is for the child to find acceptance and understanding, and so learn to accept and understand themselves better, in a process of therapeutic change and healing.

I offer 50-minute play therapy sessions for 3–12-year-olds. Sessions take place in a play therapy room filled with creative materials and toys for your child to explore. You are invited to make an initial free phone call to discuss your child’s particular needs. If you would like to go ahead, an assessment with parent/s or carer/s will be arranged.
